Realizing her journey through the bayou was only the beginning of her struggle to stay with Gavin, she finds that leaving her Louisiana home is the least of her worries. New evils await her on the other side, and as she and her friends press on with their mission, they are confronted with the reality that everything doesn't always go according to plan.

As secrets unfold and alliances are formed and broken, only the strongest will survive and the power of love will be tested when a war between witches, humans, and vampires erupts into an all-out power struggle and all is on the verge of being lost.

My Thoughts

The second installment in the Resistance Trilogy was another great book by Rachel Wade.  It got me more into the story, and the relationship between Gavin and Camille.  From page one it captivated me and it made me want to read more and more.  I couldn't put the book down until I finished it.   It was more then I expected it to be. It had a lot more action and secrets that weren't told before.

Camille did become more aggressive, trying to be a bitch to Scarlet, Gavin's ex-girlfriend.  She was a stronger person, when she had to stop seeing Gavin.  She and Gavin started meeting in secret, behind Scarlet's back.   As a person I thought that Scarlet would be mean toward Camille from the start, when I met her.

From the beginning of the book I was captivated, by Camille's world.  Everything was so different and secrets were kept between Camille and Gavin that nobody knew.  Keeping the Queen's daughter back in the human world was a smart idea at first, but after they went back to Amaranth the Queen didn't care.   All she wanted was to have power overall, and overthrow her husband.   Staying there some time caused a lot of tension, and the Queen would come into town and grab random people and take them back to the castle.  After a couple of weeks,  Gavin and Camille came up with a plan to kill the queen, without her noticing anything suspicious.  The ending was a cliffhanger.

Overall, this book much better than the first one.  It was action packed, and romantic.  It's one of those books that you can't put down from the time you start.  The plot of the book was the best, not to spoil anything.  Can't wait for the last installment of the Resistance Trilogy!!
